2027 Open Enrollment
October 15 – November 15, 2026
Open enrollment is your once-a-year opportunity to:
- Review your current plan elections and covered dependents
- Complete the spousal affidavit (if you want to cover your spouse in 2027)
- Enroll in or change your medical and/or dental plan
- Add or drop eligible dependents
- Update your contact and beneficiary information
Changes you make during this year’s open enrollment will be effective January 1, 2027.
Plan changes are allowed only during the open enrollment period or if you qualify for special enrollment rights. Outside of open enrollment, you are only able to make changes to your coverage within 60 days of experiencing a life event, such as getting married or divorced, having a baby, or your spouse losing coverage under their own plan. So it’s important during the open enrollment period to think carefully about your choices and make sure you select the right plans for your needs.
Note: Your enrollment in Teamsters Local 14 benefits is managed separately from your employer’s open enrollment. To manage your Teamsters benefits, you must handle them directly through the Trust Fund site.
Benefit Reminders
Ready To Take a More Engaged Approach to Your Health?
Don’t Miss Your Opportunity To Enroll in the Engaged Care Plan for 2027!
Since launching in 2026, the Engaged Care Plan has provided members and their families with a more connected approach to health care by making the Teamsters Local 14 Family Wellness Centers their primary source for care. Members who are enrolled in the plan have access to coordinated care through the wellness centers, including primary care, preventive services, physical therapy, nutrition coaching, and other wellness resources designed to support long-term health.
If you’re considering your medical plan options for 2027, now is the perfect time to explore the Engaged Care Plan and learn how it can help you get the most from your Teamsters Local 14 benefits. Visit the Engaged Care Plan page, or review your 2027 Open Enrollment Guide to see how the plan works and whether it’s right for you.
Enroll in the Engaged Care Plan for 2027, and you could win! Members currently enrolled in the PPO Plan who choose to enroll in the Engaged Care Plan during open enrollment will automatically be entered for a chance to win two tickets to a Golden Knights or Raiders game during the 2026-2027 season. Up to 10 winners will be selected at random and contacted by Zenith after open enrollment ends.
Prescription Coverage Change
Don’t Forget: Prescription Coverage Is Now Administered by CVS Caremark
As of July 1, 2026, prescription drug coverage transitioned from MedImpact (formerly Elixir) to CVS Caremark. If you haven’t already, be sure to use your CVS Caremark ID card when filling prescriptions.
The good news? You likely do not need to change pharmacies. CVS Caremark offers a broad retail pharmacy network, and many members can continue using their current pharmacy. Home delivery and specialty medication services are also available for added convenience.
If you haven’t received your CVS Caremark ID card or have questions about your prescription coverage, contact Zenith American Solutions at 702-851-8286 for assistance.
Need to verify your pharmacy? Visit the CVS Caremark pharmacy locator to confirm that your pharmacy participates in the network.

Dependent Coverage
If you are adding a new dependent for 2027, you must upload required documentation, such as a copy of your certified marriage certificate (not the marriage license) for a new spouse, or a copy of the certified birth certificate for each new child. If your dependent is already enrolled for 2026 benefits coverage, you do not need to upload new documentation to continue their coverage for 2027.
If you want to cover your spouse (new or not) for 2027, you MUST COMPLETE the online spousal affidavit, even if you completed it last year (see below).
Submit Your Online Spousal Affidavit
To cover your spouse, you will need to submit an online spousal affidavit through the benefits portal. Even if you completed the spousal affidavit last year, you must complete and return it again by November 15 to enroll your spouse for 2027 health care coverage. On the affidavit, indicate whether your spouse has the option to enroll in other group medical coverage through their current employer.
If your spouse has the option to enroll in other group medical coverage but does not elect it and continues to have the Fund’s medical plan as primary coverage, you must pay a $300 monthly surcharge. An invoice with payment information will be mailed to you on December 1 for payment due by December 20.
If your spouse does not have the option to enroll in other group medical coverage, works part-time, is a retiree, or is enrolled in their employer’s health plan as primary coverage (which pays first) and in the Fund’s health plan as secondary coverage (which pays second), you will not be required to pay a monthly surcharge as long as you complete the online spousal affidavit by November 15.
If you certify that your spouse does not have the option to enroll in other group medical coverage and you enroll your spouse in the Fund’s medical plan, and then later it is determined that your spouse was enrolled in or had the option to enroll in other group medical coverage, you must pay the $300 monthly surcharge for each month it should have been applied. Plus, you may have to repay the Trust Fund for any benefits that were improperly paid for your spouse.
